This is going to have to be reduced to 6 or less Pantone colors, but I wanted to put it together before bed. All vector, in a similar style/work flow to the bird experiments. With the lightbox, I drew taco-cat as a bunch of different parts, that will be layered together in Illustrator. So the body is 3 little drawings, the front of the face is ~4, some parts for the taco filling, the back of the shell, the crown, the starburst thing, and the ground. I was pretty excited with how this was looking, so I couldn’t sleep without posting it somewhere.
Off to read American Elf. Good night!
Another week, another woot competition. This week the theme is palindromes. After a couple pages of sketches, this little guy appeared all of the sudden:
This is TACO CAT. (To the left is an idea for an orc riding on a giant crow – CROW ORC)
I thought this was a really awesome idea, and cute enough (plus: an animal!) for Woot. So, I drew it some more, trying to come up with something that felt right.
In the end, I think this TACO CAT is almost 100 times better than PIZZA DOG (seen below on an old page with old gnomes and such).
